Our Daily Schedule
Mindfulness & Welcome Circle ( 9 - 9.15 a.m.)
Breathing exercises or a short guided visualization (e.g., imagining cooking with love); set positive intentions for the day.
Spice Exploration (Spice of the Day) (9.15 - 9.30 a.m. )
Introduce 1–2 spices per day (touch, smell, taste). Tell a fun cultural or cooking story around it. Let kids make a mini "spice passport."
Knife Skills & Kitchen Safety ( 9.30 - 9.45 a.m. )
Demonstrate child-safe cutting (using nylon knives or kid-safe tools). Practice on soft fruits/veggies (e.g., bananas, cucumbers, bell peppers).
Break & Water ( 9.45 - 10 a.m. )
Light movement/stretch/snack break.
Cooking Demo & Hands-On Cooking ( 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. )
Lead a recipe demo (keep it visual & interactive), then let kids prep/cook in small groups. Include the main dish and a side/snack. Rotate to assist.
Eat & Share Meal Together ( 12 p.m. - 12.30 p.m. )
Set the table together, share what they made, and practice gratitude before eating. Encourage tasting even if they’re unsure.
Creative Activity ( 12.30 - 12.45 p.m. )
Prompt questions: What did you learn? What was your favorite part? One thing you’re grateful for today? Group sharing or pair sharing.
Clean-Up Crew & Goodbye Ritual ( 12.45 - 1 p.m. )
Kids help with cleanup. End with a small ritual like a gratitude clap or a group cheer. Hand out a “Spice Star” or sticker for participation.
